Student Arrival
To help ensure the safety of all students, State Street Elementary opens its doors at 8:10 a.m. Monday through Thursday and 9:10 a.m. on Fridays.
Students should not arrive before these times, as staff supervision is not available prior to 8:10 a.m. (Monday–Thursday) or 9:10 a.m. (Friday). Families are asked to make arrangements so that students are not left unattended on school grounds before the building opens.
Upon arrival, students should report directly to the front entrance and wait to enter the building. While waiting, students are expected to either stand in line or sit on the designated bench. For everyone's safety, students should not play, run, or use the playground or other areas of campus before school begins.
Students arriving after 8:40 am will be considered tardy. If a student arrives after 8:50 am, the designated parent/guardian must check in the student at the office.
Following these arrival expectations helps create a safe, orderly, and welcoming start to the school day. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure all students arrive safely and are ready to learn.
Student Dismissal
Students are dismissed each day at 3:40 p.m. To help ensure a safe and efficient dismissal, please follow the procedures below:
- Car Riders: Students will be dismissed to their designated grade-level pick-up location. Families should pick up their child promptly at the assigned location.
- Walkers: Students will be dismissed through the front doors and are expected to leave campus immediately.
- EVERY student is checked out by assigned staff.
If a student has not been picked up by 3:50 p.m., they will be escorted to the front office to wait for their designated adult. Any student remaining in the office at 4:00 p.m. must be signed out by the adult picking them up.
Because staff supervision ends at 4:00 p.m., all students are expected to be picked up and off campus by that time. We appreciate your cooperation in helping ensure a safe dismissal for every student.
